Rhonda Waller
I have always been into fitness. Playing sports while growning up. Then as an adult I started running and accomplished the goal of completing 5K, 10k and  couple of Half Marathons and Triathlons. I discovered CrossFit in 2010 and after commiting my training to CrossFit I decided to take it to the next Level and become a Trainer.

I played a lot of sports growing up. I was on the swim team, rode horses, played tennis, soccer and softball. After college, I moved to the beach and began running and surfing for exercise. In the winter of 2006 I began CrossFit as a cross-traininig activity to improve my surfing. Since there aren't really many waves that often, I CrossFitted  a lot. It was the best workout I found. It is the only form of exercise that pushes me both physically and mentally and gives me a wonderful adrenaline high. Nothing compares!

One thing I really love about CrossFit is that ANYBODY can do it. It doesn't matter how old you are or what your fitness level is, CrossFit will kick your butt and give you the fitness you are seeking. It is the ultimate equalizer.

I drank too much and got fat in college and started running when my family made fun of my weight.  Turns out I really like running, and from there I transitioned into triathalons.  Over the next two years, I competed in many road races, including several marathons and a half ironman.  They hurt alot.  In 2007, I joined the United States Marine Corps.  I figured the Marine Corps would hurt more than marathons and triathalons and I was right.  At first they let me play in the woods and shoot really cool guns, but later they made me do more and more paperwork and that was too painful.  So, in 2011, I left the Marine Corps during the worst recession since the Great Depression and tried to find a job.  I also got married to Sydney.  Boy does she like Crossfit.  She won't shut up about it.  I had been doing some Crossfit for the past two years, but figured that I really needed to step up my game.  Now I Crossfit as much as she makes me.  Boy does it hurt.

I have always played sports and after High School I joined the United States Marine Corps. I have always been into fitness and was dedicated to my traditional training routine. I began running Triathlons after a close friend talked me into it and became a Triathlon junkie. When I completed my first Half Ironman distance Triathlon I felt that I was in the best shape ever, then I was introduced to CrossFit. CrossFit did not only become the way I worked out but it is my life style. I have seen the benefits of CrossFit personally in my Triathlons and in other aspects of my life. I was already a personal trainer and decided to become a CrossFit Certified Instructor so I could share this with my clients. Ever since opening CrossFit Carteret it is a joy to me to see new people learn about CrossFit and see them apply it in their life.

I started Crossfit in the summer of 2011 and I was hooked right from the get-go. I've always been good at lifting random heavy objects and interested in doing any long distance obstacle race so Crossfit was a good fit for me. I decided to start taking it seriously in the summer of 2012 and got my Level 1 Certification.  Teaching has been awesome. Watching someone's face after they accomplish a goal or perform a move for the first time is awesome. I do have an obsession with bluegrass music but I'll try to keep it to a minimum during WODs. What's better than a fast banjo to workout to, though?
